Craft Beer Central Hotel Overview

Craft Beer Central Hotel sits right on Podwale Grodzkie, just a stone’s throw from the Old Port and the buzzing Łękno street. I remember walking in on a chilly November evening, the air smelling faintly of sea spray and something sweet—like malted barley—coming from the hotel’s front lounge. The building itself is a charming mix of brick and glass; the windows are big enough to let in the city’s low-key hum, so you can hear the clink of glasses at the nearby Fraps Bar without feeling overwhelmed. The lobby’s décor is a nod to Gdańsk’s maritime heritage, with a big wooden model of a sailing ship hanging above the reception desk. I was greeted by a staff member who practically became my travel buddy and told me the best way to navigate the city on a budget: grab a tram from the Podgórze stop, hop off at Św. Marcin, and you’ll be right in the heart of the Old Town in no time.

The check‑in process was quick, but what really sets Craft Beer Central Hotel apart is its authenticity. The front desk is staffed by locals who know the ins and outs of the city, and they were quick to recommend the best pier for watching the sunset over the Motława. I stayed in a double room on the third floor, and honestly, the bed was a dream—plush enough to forget the city’s occasional wind, yet firm enough to keep me from waking up sore. The room’s décor is modern but cozy, with a small bar area that’s perfect for a quick pint after a day of sightseeing. I found the noise level to be very reasonable; the only thing that kept me awake at night were the occasional gulls and the distant hum of the city’s nightlife. Parking is available on the street, but I parked a few blocks away in a small lot that offered free parking for the first 30 minutes—big plus if you’re running late. The hotel’s staff were friendly and prepared to help with luggage, luggage storage, or a quick recommendation for a local pier.

If you’re planning a trip during the busy summer months, you’ll notice that Craft Beer Central Hotel can get a tad lively, but the staff manage it with a calm ease. The best time to explore the nearby Łękno street is early afternoon, when the cafés are bustling but not yet crowded, and the street performers start their set. I appreciated that the hotel offered a small free coffee each morning, which was a nice touch in the early morning rush. The only minor critique I’d mention is that the Wi-Fi signal can be spotty on the upper floors during peak hours, but it’s a small inconvenience that’s easily fixed by moving to the balcony, where you can enjoy a breath of sea air while you’re offline. Overall, Craft Beer Central Hotel feels less like a place to stay and more like a friendly neighborhood spot that welcomes you with open arms and a cold beer. If you’re looking to soak up Gdańsk’s culture, mingle with locals, and have a comfortable, authentic place to return to at the end of the day, this is the spot to book.

Reviews of Craft Beer Central Hotel

  • Lydia from New Zealand – 7 June 2025 (8/10)

Lovely and helpful ladies at reception. Good views over the city. Perfect location right next to the main train station.

  • Lora from United States – 4 June 2025 (10/10)

    Location, cleanliness, great breakfast

What could be improved: It appeared as though most of the staff lacked motivation and didn’t want to be at work. My husband and I struggled to get our suitcases up the stairs before the reception area. 3 young men (ages 25+) saw us struggle and did not offer to help. Perhaps our expectations were too high.

  • Steven from Australia – 1 June 2025 (10/10)

Fantastic hotel in an awesome location. The room was spacious. The location walking distance to all important landmarks and food at Craft beer really good. Would highly recommend

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Rosemary from United States – 31 May 2025 (10/10)

    Breakfast was great
    4 minutes from train station

What could be improved: Restaurant had good beer and food but slow service

  • Geoffrey from United Kingdom – 27 May 2025 (10/10)

Amazing hotel, fantastic location, incredibly welcoming and friendly staff. Brilliant value

What could be improved: Service in the restaurant was a little slow, and you couldn't just go to the bar for a drink, it was table service only. Not good when you just wanted a quick drink.

  • David from United Kingdom – 26 May 2025 (8/10)

Superb location at main railway station – perfect for all transport in Gdańsk! Quality, historic building and interior. Beautifully appointed rooms and accommodation. Friendly and helpful staff on reception. Very good daily housekeeping too. Enjoyed my stay!

What could be improved: Disappointingly noisy on road or city side of property – I would request a higher floor on railway side of property. In-room tech much more than needed and not exactly user-friendly. Noise from function rooms (dragging chairs), and from neighbouring room’s residents in early hours. Unhelpful (and rude in one case) staff in restaurant bar – ordering a beer was too much for them to cope with! Did not bother returning to bar!!! Disappointed in view of the encouragement to use bar, and enjoy the beers, made during check-in.

  • Shaw from United Kingdom – 24 May 2025 (9/10)

Nice period property, good room size.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Bga from France – 24 May 2025 (9/10)

Next to the train station, craft beer and restaurant downstairs, very clean room

  • James from France – 22 May 2025 (10/10)

The hotel is very close to the railway station and the tram stop, and also a short walk into the city. It is in a beautiful old building, but the interior is ultra modern. The room we had on the corner of the building had good views in two directions, and was very large. The bed was large, but was of two singles pushed together. There was ample storage and our room had a separate table with two arm chairs. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room, and a bottle of fresh water daily. There was a mini fridge containing a mini bar. The flat screen television was large with some English channels. The breakfast room on the ground floor was large with plenty of seating. The restaurant on the lower floor was the same size as the breakfast room, and the food there was excellent. Being a Craft beer brewery, we sampled several of their beers and they were excellent also. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Gdansk. The staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful.

What could be improved: There was a flight of stairs to reach reception, which if you had limited mobility, are awkward to climb, although there is a chair lift if you are really struggling.

  • Ram from India – 19 May 2025 (10/10)

Location- the pub at the basement- comfortable room

What could be improved: The food in the pub could be better
