Comuneapart Overview

Comuneapart sits on the third floor of a neatly kept block at Długie Ogrody 47, right off the bustling Mała Rynek street—just a short walk from the old town’s cobblestones and a quick hop to the waterfront. The moment I stepped into the lobby, the warm, subtly citrusy scent of freshly brewed coffee hit me, and the staff greeted me with a smile that felt less like a scripted welcome and more like a nod from a local friend. Check‑in was quick; the front desk had a digital key system that worked perfectly, and the receptionist even handed me a map of the streets you’d want to wander at dusk—she pointed out the quiet lane of Łąkowe, where a tiny bakery serves the best cinnamon rolls in town. Parking is a bit of a scramble on weekends, but there’s a paid underground lot a block away, and the hotel offers a free valet for guests staying over a night or two. I parked my bike in the secure locker—easy, no hassle.

The room itself—yes, there’s a bit of city noise at 2–3 a.m., but the view of the Gdańsk skyline at sunrise is worth the trade. The bed was a cloud‑like mattress, and the linens were crisp, not too stiff—just the right balance for a good night’s sleep. I took a shower in the ensuite, and the water pressure was pretty strong, with a showerhead that had a soft mist setting, perfect for a relaxing rinse after a day of exploring the Old Town. The bathroom had a small, clear glass shower door that let in the early morning light, giving the space a breezy feel. I appreciated the little touches, like a local‑made soap bar and a small stack of regional magazines—not the generic tourist stuff, but ones that talk about the city’s maritime history and local art scene. I did notice that the Wi‑Fi signal was a bit weak in the corner of the hall, but the hotel offers a paid upgrade if you’re a heavy streamer. The minibar had a decent selection of Polish craft beers, and the coffee machine was practically a barista‑grade; I made a latte with the frother, and it tasted like a small café in the city center.

Outside the room, the hotel’s position is a sweet spot for both the old and new sides of Gdańsk. From the lobby, you can see the bustling St. Mary’s Church and the cobbled streets of the Old Town in the distance, while just a few minutes on foot you’re at the northern quarter—where the street art murals and indie cafés line the avenues. I took a short walk to the nearby Długi Targ and ended up at a tiny pier on the Motława River, where locals gather in the evenings to sip coffee and watch the boats drift. The noise level at night is moderate; the nearby traffic can be a bit loud, but the hotel’s windows are sound‑proof enough that I could actually hear the gentle hum of the city, not the full roar. I spent the morning at the hotel’s rooftop terrace—small but cozy—where the view of the skyline was breathtaking, and the staff served a small platter of locally sourced cheeses and breads that made me feel right at home. The hotel’s rating of 9.2 is no surprise; the overall vibe is genuine, and the staff are genuinely helpful. If you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk, especially during the summer months when the city buzzes with tourists, Comuneapart offers that perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and local charm—just what you need to feel like a real traveler in this beautiful city.
