Central Apartments Piwna Overview
Central Apartments Piwna is tucked between the lively streets of ul. Piwna and ul. Gdańska, right where the city’s old‑world charm meets the buzz of modern life. I first spotted it on a rainy Thursday when the neon signs of a nearby coffee shop flickered over the cobblestones—little to say, the building itself looked like a secret garden, with a wrought‑iron balcony that faced the river. Check‑in was smooth, though you’ll notice the front desk staff still use a handwritten logbook, a nostalgic touch that feels oddly personal in the age of digital kiosks. The key is handed over with a quick smile and a thumbs‑up, and they even hand you a small guidebook that lists the best spots to try pierogi in the neighborhood.
After I moved into my apartment, the first thing I noticed was the soundscape. Honestly, the city is never quiet, but this place is surprisingly calm—there’s a low hum of traffic from ul. Gdańska and the distant clatter of a bicycle repair shop, but the walls keep the noise at bay. The window view is a slice of old Gdańsk: a church spire, a street performer, and the occasional gull swooping over the river. If you’re into city strolls, you’ll love that the apartment is only a three‑minute walk from the Old Town Market Square—meaning you can wander the historic streets and return to a cozy, clean space with no hassle.
I mean, the apartment itself is a sweet blend of retro and contemporary. The décor is modern but not sterile; there’s a hand‑woven rug that adds warmth to the hardwood floors, and the kitchen is fully equipped with a small espresso machine that actually makes a decent shot. The beds are king‑size, and the linens feel like a hug from a grandmother—soft, breathable, and just the right amount of fluff. The bathroom is another highlight: a deep soaking tub that makes you feel like you’re in a spa, complete with a small stack of scented candles and a bottle of local honey.
Parking is a mixed bag. There’s a small street parking spot right next to the building, but in the summer, you’ll need to be quick or find a spot a block away. The city’s parking meters can be a bit strict, so I always keep a few change tucked in a drawer. As for noise, the apartment is sound‑proof to a good degree, but if you’re a night owl, you might hear the occasional low‑ranging bass from a nearby club. That said, the overall vibe is relaxed, and the air is usually fresh with the scent of sea breezes mingling with the café aroma from the street.
The locals who live here love the convenience of the neighborhood. There’s a small market on ul. Piwna where you can pick up fresh produce and a bakery that serves the best rye bread you’ll ever taste—just a stone’s throw from the building. The public transportation is excellent; a tram stop is only a few minutes away, and the bus lines run frequently, making it easy to hop off wherever you want to explore. For the more adventurous, a bike rental shop is right across the street, and you can ride along the scenic path that hugs the Baltic coast.
Overall, if you’re looking for a stay that feels like a home rather than a hotel, Central Apartments Piwna delivers. It’s not flashy, but it’s honest, comfortable, and packed with little touches that make you feel like you’ve already known the city for years. You’ll find yourself stepping out in the morning for a quick coffee, wandering the streets, and then returning to a warm, welcoming retreat that’s just a heartbeat away from the best of Gdańsk. Whether you’re exploring the medieval streets or simply soaking in the sea breeze, this place is a solid, authentic base that truly makes you feel at home.
Early hotels booking in Gdansk requires advance planning during peak summer seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s beautiful beaches and rich maritime culture.

Location is perfect. Nice room and nothing to complaint about. Only thing was to access in apartment. The room was behind 4 differrent doors and codes, so the first time was bit difficult.

The place is in the vmcenter of city
Laura from Slovakia – 30 April 2025 (8/10)
Perfect for a larger group, as the three apartments are connected by a shared hallway, it is more like one big apartment, it was nice to be able to get together while also having separate space if we needed privacy.
Very grateful to the host for accomodating our need to store the luggage before the check-in time.
What could be improved: We were a group of 7 adults and 5 children, 12 in total.
The three apartments combined sleep 12 people in total in the 3 double beds plus 3 couches. However the couches were not so comfortable for sleeping, they are regular extendable couches, they don’t have a proper mattress like a (sofa)bed. We stayed only one night so it was no problem, but it’s something to consider for a longer stay.Paul from Ireland – 27 April 2025 (9/10)
Very clean, fantastic location, great value for money. Very helpful host

Room was in a good location. Facilities were great, including bathroom. Curtains did not go across fully, so an early wake up was had. Sofa bed wasn't made up which was unfortunate.
Matthew from United Kingdom – 2 May 2024 (7/10)
Was very central, our rooms we booked were different to what we had booked, the 4th room was not the right size to fit all of our group so we had to get a different room for 1 of us

Lovely property in the heart of Gdansk. Very clean and comfortable.
What could be improved: Quite noisy in the evening but that’s expected from the city centre. We tried to contact the owner about two issues by email and phone but never heard back from her.Paolo*g from United Kingdom – 14 October 2022 (9/10)
Very cosy and Sweet beery
What could be improved: Too many passcodes . But after all it's not such a big dildo
