Central Apartments Ogrody 1 & Parking Overview

Central Apartments Ogrody 1 & Parking is tucked into a quiet corner of ul. Długie Ogrody, but it’s still just a stone’s throw from the bustling Gdańsk Old Town. I walked down the cobblestone streets, the smell of fresh pierogi and roasted chestnuts drifting from the market stalls, and the first thing that hit me was the simplicity of the building’s façade—no flashy glass or neon signs, just a clean, understated design that feels like a local’s home. The big 4‑star rating (8.5, it’s on the site) actually matches what you see: a comfortable, well‑maintained space that doesn’t feel like a hotel, more like a cozy apartment village.

When I arrived on a Monday afternoon, the check‑in was surprisingly breezy. The front desk person—she was a young woman who seemed to know everyone, and she greeted me with a warm smile and a quick “Welcome!” without the usual queuing drama. She handed over a key card, and there was a small note about the parking: the building’s own underground lot is free for renters, and there’s a tiny terrace above it that’s perfect for a morning coffee while watching the city wake up. I parked my car and found a spot right next to the elevator, so no more hunting for street spots in the busy winter months.

The apartments themselves are a blend of classic Polish charm and modern convenience. The living area is spacious, with a comfy sofa that’s actually big enough to sit in for hours, and a big flat‑screen TV that comes with streaming services—great for a lazy Sunday night after a day of sightseeing. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a stainless‑steel stove, a microwave, and even a kettle that whirs pleasantly. I made myself a cup of coffee, and the aroma filled the room, mingling with the faint scent of fresh rain on the cobblestones outside. The beds are solid, and the linens feel like a soft hug—no fancy sheets, just plain, clean cotton that’s breathable in the summer heat and cozy in the winter chill.

If you’re a bit picky about noise, don’t worry. The building is surrounded by a green belt that muffles the city’s usual bustle. I slept through the night with only the occasional distant honk or the chirping of pigeons. In the evenings, the street lights cast a warm glow across the courtyard, and there’s a small community garden where locals gather for a quick chat or a shared cup of tea. I stopped by the next day and met a few neighbors; they mentioned that the street is quiet after 10 pm, making it a great spot for a late‑night walk to the nearby Central Apartments Ogrody 1 & Parking café, which offers a selection of local pastries that you can’t find in the tourist traps.

The hotel’s rating of 8.5 reflects its balance between comfort and authenticity. I mean, it’s not a five‑star luxury place, but it’s more than a budget hostel. The price point is fair, especially when you factor in free parking and the fact that you can cook your own meals. The only minor critique I’d give is that the elevator is a bit slow, so if you’re carrying a suitcase, it might take a minute to get to the floor. Still, the overall vibe is laid‑back and welcoming, with a touch of local flavor that makes you feel like you’ve got a home base instead of just a room.

So, if you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk and want to stay somewhere that feels like a neighbor’s apartment rather than a tourist hotel, you can’t go wrong with Central Apartments Ogrody 1 & Parking. The location, the free parking, the quiet nights, and the friendly staff all combine to give you an experience that’s both practical and genuinely enjoyable. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer, especially when you’re sipping coffee on the terrace while watching the city’s streetlights flicker in the evening.

  • Pavel from Czech Republic – 9 August 2024 (8/10)

The location and the appartment were perfect.

What could be improved: The key from the blocker of the parking slot No.3 in front of thé building was not working, we have to park on other place in front of the building suggested by the security and the Agency. Also, the Agency confirmed that we can use the slot from 12:00 pm but this was not possible as the key was available in the apt that was free from 3 pm. Also, we have not received the code to the apt as promised, we had to call for it. In a summary, 45 min wasted during check-in by calling to get the apt code, to get the key from the parking slot, to find the correct slot, to try to open the blocker, to communicate with security who does not speak English, calling again to the Agency and find an alternative slot with the security. Thé Agency was aware of the issue with the blocker.

  • Raimondas from Lithuania – 19 July 2024 (8/10)

Very great location near the old town, shops and all the bus, trams stops. Great that the door has a code lock so you dont have to bring keys everywhere. Nice terrace on top of a roof, great view. Very secure place.

What could be improved: We got sent very unclear parking instructions, there were no instructions how to go to the roof terrace. We didn’t enjoy the very early check out. There was no washing machine which is important for a longer stay. Near our door there were two bags left with laundry from another room. Keep in my mind that the apartment is across from a church so every morning at 6 am those church bells wake you up. TV, hairdryer didn’t work.

Convenient parking, modern facility. Food shops very near. Close to motor way, no traffic issues.

What could be improved: Noisy at night, both the street and building. Coffee machine didn’t work, required cleaning from calc.

  • Robertas from Lithuania – 3 August 2023 (9/10)

Location is in the main old town street, couldn't be better.

What could be improved: The only negative, is that there is no microwave, but it's not a deal breaker.
