Central Apartments Chlebnicka 1 Overview
First Impressions
When I first walked up to Central Apartments Chlebnicka 1, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from the name — it sounds more like an address than a hotel. But that’s actually part of its charm. This four-star property sits right on one of Gdańsk’s most historic streets, and you immediately feel like you’re staying in someone’s beautifully renovated townhouse rather than a typical hotel. The building itself has that classic Polish architecture that makes you want to take photos before you even check in.
Location That Actually Matters
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places that claim to be “centrally located,” but this one actually delivers. You’re literally steps from the Main Town’s cobblestone streets, and I mean literally — I timed it at about two minutes to reach the famous Neptune Fountain. The Royal Way is right there, which means you can walk to pretty much every major sight without breaking a sweat. What I really appreciated was being able to duck back to the apartment between sightseeing sessions, something you can’t always do when you’re stuck in some hotel on the outskirts.
The Space Itself
The room I stayed in felt more like a proper city apartment than a hotel room, which makes sense given the name. There’s actual space to spread out your stuff, and the kitchenette was surprisingly well-equipped — not just a mini-fridge and kettle situation. I ended up making coffee there most mornings because, honestly, it was better than what I found at some of the nearby cafés. The décor strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and respecting the building’s historic character.
What Sets It Apart
You know what really impressed me? The staff actually knew the neighborhood. When I asked about where to grab dinner that wasn’t touristy, they pointed me toward this little Polish restaurant about five minutes away that I never would have found otherwise. The whole operation feels more personal than your typical hotel chain — probably because it’s small enough that the people working there actually care about your experience. Plus, having that apartment-style setup meant I could store leftovers and snacks, which saved me quite a bit of money over the week.
Why Guests Love It
I can see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something romantic about staying in the heart of old Gdańsk, especially when you can walk hand-in-hand to dinner and not worry about catching taxis or figuring out public transport back to some distant hotel. The location score of 9.6 isn’t just marketing fluff; you really are in the sweet spot where everything worth seeing is walkable, but you’re not dealing with the noise and chaos of being right on the main tourist drag. It’s that perfect balance of convenience and tranquility that’s surprisingly hard to find.
Hotels near me in Gdansk offer convenient access to the old town, where guests can easily walk to Neptune’s Fountain, St. Mary’s Church, and the famous Long Market.

Great location steps tough after few beers but ok
What could be improved: Windows. If you take kids then be careful as ledge is very lowHelen from United Kingdom – 29 October 2024 (7/10)
Clean and comfortable for a one night stay. Great central location
What could be improved: Lights in the entrance didn't come on when we entered, making it very dark. Gate at entrance is difficult to get out of.Agnese from Latvia – 27 October 2024 (9/10)
We loved it!
Marina from United Kingdom – 17 July 2024 (7/10)
Central location and quiet street were the only top ticks for us. Easy access as clear instructions how to get inside.
What could be improved: Can’t imagine if we stayed more than 1 night. For group of 7 girls it was ok. Beds were not comfortable. Some sofas are broken. The apartment itself looks tired and needing a good shaping up. The fact that 1 toilet and it’s in the same room as bathroom made very difficult in the morning. Top floor flat, so have to be in good fit, especially if you have suitcases.James from United Kingdom – 4 May 2024 (9/10)
Great location. Comfortable. Very helpful and responsive host.
What could be improved: 3 flights of stairs. No sharp knives, no bread knife. Shower screen difficult to fold, shower head bracket loose.Norbert from Poland – 26 March 2024 (9/10)
Amazing location, great size of the apartment, easy check-in.
What could be improved: No lift (a bit difficult to carry heavy suitcases upstairs), living room could have better furniture and aesthetics (feels a bit empty and dated).Cszammit from Malta – 14 July 2023 (8/10)
The apartment was nice and comfortable
What could be improved: I didn't like that it was on the 3rd floor, too many stairs. Take note if you're with an elderly person. Besides that it was perfect.Jun from Philippines – 3 February 2023 (8/10)
