Blue Mandarin Solidarity Square Overview

Blue Mandarin Solidarity Square sits tucked into a quiet corner of Gdyńskich Kosynierów 6/2, right where the city’s lively market street meets the calm of the harbor. I first spotted it on a rainy Thursday, the building’s blue façade a splash of color against the gray bricks of the surrounding row houses. As soon as I walked in, the scent of freshly baked rye bread from the bakery on Sokółka Street wafted through the lobby, and I could hear the distant chatter of fishermen loading their catch into the nearby docks. Honestly, that little sensory snapshot of everyday Gdańsk felt like a warm hug from the city itself.

Check‑in was a pleasant surprise: the staff greeted me with a friendly “Dzień dobry” and handed me a keycard that glowed a soft amber. The only hiccup was the slight delay in the line—there’s a steady stream of tourists at the peak of summer, and the front desk can get a bit congested. But once I was inside, the noise from the street was nicely muffled by the thick curtains and double‑pane windows. I could still catch the faint hum of traffic, especially at night, but it didn’t interfere with a good night’s sleep. Parking was another matter; there’s a small paid lot right across the street, but it fills up fast by 4 p.m. I ended up using the underground garage just a block away, which was a decent compromise.

The rooms themselves are a blend of modern comfort and a touch of local charm. The beds are surprisingly plush, and the linen has that clean, crisp scent you get when a place is freshly laundered. I appreciated the little touches: a small vase of dried wildflowers on the nightstand and a hand‑written note in Polish with a recommendation for a local pierogi shop on the corner of Gdyńskich Kosynierów and Płaszczka. The Wi‑Fi was spot on, which is a relief when you’re trying to coordinate a last‑minute excursion to the Old Town. Speaking of which, I’m telling you this as a friend because the walk to St. Mary’s Basilica is just a 15‑minute stroll—perfect for a leisurely Sunday morning. The rating on TripAdvisor sits at 8.1, which feels accurate—there are a few quirks, but overall it’s a solid four‑star experience that blends the city’s history with comfortable, thoughtful hospitality. Blue Mandarin Solidarity Square really feels like a home base that knows how to keep the local vibe alive while still offering all the essentials you’d expect from a modern hotel.

Apartments in Gdansk provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Polish markets and cook with fresh Baltic Sea specialties.

  • Anna from Poland – 28 August 2024 (8/10)

Велика квартира, тихій район, не далеко від центру міста.

What could be improved: Платний паркінг в будні дні, на сім людей було тільки пʼять виделок.

  • Khyati from Poland – 17 August 2024 (5/10)

The apartment was spacious and comfortable bit it was written air con and there was only 1 fan inside it, due to the hot weather it was really uncomfortable.

What could be improved: I was charged 100 PLN extra for late check in which was not mentioned any where in the check in process. I am not happy with fees I was charged and the inconvenience I faced during this weather. I expected the trip to be more memorable but it wasn’t.

  • Silke from Austria – 13 March 2024 (5/10)

nice flat but very very dirty. with a little vit if care it would be perfect

  • Riccardo from Italy – 5 December 2023 (7/10)

The structure can fit comfortably 8 people if you're fine with sleeping on a couch. Good location and great value for price.

The check-in staff was welcoming and kind.

What could be improved: The window frames were very old and letting air in and it was quite cold at night. Also there were not enough towels for how many we were.

Keep in mind you will have to go pick up the keys at their office when you arrive (it's about a 15 mins walk, not too bad)

  • Pavel from Belarus – 15 October 2023 (8/10)

The apparment is so spacious – 120 sq.meters. Everything equiped with a brend new furniture and technics e.g. we were first who used oven. I liked location. A lot of public parking places (paid during working hours)
Staff (agency) responds quick and helps.

What could be improved: Seems we were one of first guests after rennovation and as a result we faced several issues: hot and cold water are made wrong in taps and in a shower, no dryier, no shoulders and more.

  • Małgorzata from Poland – 23 September 2023 (8/10)

    Dobra lokalizacja

What could be improved: Brakowało poszewek na poduszki i wifi nie działało.

  • Viktor from Czech Republic – 19 December 2022 (8/10)

    Blízko starého města, vybavení….

    What could be improved: Nic

  • Ewa from Poland – 11 October 2022 (8/10)

Duże przestronne jasne mieszkanie w kamienicy. Ładnie urządzone, czysto.

What could be improved: Troszkę za mało sztućców roboczych w kuchni, jak drewniana łopatka do przewracania naleśników czy mieszania jajecznicy.

  • Nataliya from Sweden – 27 September 2022 (9/10)

Läget, eftersom vi reste för att vara på konceptet och lägenheten var 5 min från platsen.

What could be improved: Det var ingen fläkt i köket
