Walking up to B & B Tomula on Kołątaja Street, you immediately get that “hidden gem” feeling — it’s tucked away just enough to feel special, but close enough to everything that matters in Gdańsk. This four-star bed and breakfast has that perfect balance of being intimate without feeling cramped, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The building itself has character, which I mean in the best possible way — it feels authentically Polish rather than some generic hotel chain.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally a short walk from the Old Town, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your window. The couples who stay here absolutely rave about the location (they rate it 9.2, which is pretty impressive), and I get why. You can easily stroll to the Main Town Hall, the Neptune Fountain, all those gorgeous colorful buildings along Długi Targ, but when you want to retreat, you actually can. Plus, there’s free private parking on site, which anyone who’s tried to park in European city centers will tell you is basically gold.

The Room Experience

The rooms here feel more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s place than a typical hotel room. They’re thoughtfully designed without being fussy — clean lines, comfortable beds, and those little touches that show someone actually cares about your stay. The bathrooms are modern and well-maintained, and you know what? The Wi-Fi actually works properly, which shouldn’t be noteworthy but somehow still is in some places.

Breakfast & Dining

The breakfast situation is solid — they do both continental and buffet options, so whether you’re a grab-coffee-and-go person or someone who likes to linger over a proper meal, you’re covered. The quality is definitely above what you’d expect from a B&B, and they seem to source locally when possible. It’s served in a cozy dining area that feels more like a restaurant than a hotel breakfast room, which adds to that personal touch this place does so well.

Why Guests Love It

Look, with an 8.6 rating, this place is clearly doing something right, and after staying here, I think it comes down to the details. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work — they’ll give you actual recommendations, not just hand you a tourist brochure. The location means you can walk to dinner, walk to sightsee, walk to the waterfront, but still feel like you’re staying somewhere with personality rather than just another cookie-cutter place. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about the whole setup — intimate without being stuffy, well-located without being touristy. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned, not because there’s so much to do at the hotel itself, but because it makes such a perfect base for exploring Gdańsk properly.

  The hotel is located right in the middle of Gdansk, in a quiet neighborhood near a major crossroad. The tram stop is only a few minutes of walking away and will get you comfortably to anywhere in Gdansk, whether you want to spend the day on a beach, exploring the old town or cycling to the Westerplatte. Rooms are very cozy and clean, with everything you will need. If I ever come to Gdansk in the future I will definitely be staying here again!

  The place is well located, close to SKM station and the trams. Nearby there are 2 big shopping malls with many stores. The hotel itself is clean, spacious with friendly stuff that are always ready help and support where they can. You get a nice gift of a free visit to the hotel’s gym. Right next to the hotel there is Zabka that is working everyday. Definitely will stay here again when visiting Gdańsk or nearby cities. Thank you!

  The breakfast was very good
  The location of the facility is good. The tram stop is very close. In general, city traffic in Gdansk is very well organized.

  Location,location, location! Nice, clean room, good choice for breakfast. Great public transport around and Galeria Baltycka with shopping, food options, AND LOCKERS!!!
  
  What could be improved: No reception in place (but easy instructions to check in and later checked out) , so no option to leave lagguages before/after stay, but Galeria Baltycka has that option for 1.00£per day per item!

  Great location in the middle of the beach area and the city. Very near a shopping mall (Baltycka). Clean and nice rooms. Big shower. Quiet. Friendly staff. Very near the tram. Small fridge in the room.
