Art Deco Apartment in Gdańsk Overview
Art Deco Apartment in Gdańsk – you know, when I first stumbled upon this place, I was already halfway through my trip and just looking for a spot that felt less like a hotel and more like someone’s living room. The address, Gdyńskich Kosynierów, 08-866 Gdańsk, is tucked into a cobbled lane that runs just off the main street heading toward the Old Town. If you’re walking from the Motława river, you’ll cross the little bridge, and a few steps down the alley will bring you to this building that, honestly, looks like it belongs in a 1930s movie set. The front door is a solid oak with a brass knob that feels like a relic, and the hallway smells faintly of fresh coffee – the café on Struga Street is just a block away, so the aroma is probably from there. Parking is a bit of a hustle; there’s a small municipal lot by the river, but you’ll have to give it a few minutes to find a spot, especially during the tourist season. Noise-wise, it’s pretty decent – the street buzzes with urban life, but the windows are double‑glazed, so you can actually hear the laughter from the cafés without it being a full soundtrack.
When you actually step into the apartment, the vibe immediately shifts. The walls are painted in that soft pastel palette that art deco is famous for, and the lacquered furnishings feel like they’ve been curated by a designer who loves vintage chic. The living area is spacious with a plush sofa that I swear you could sink into for hours, and there’s a glass coffee table that reflects the light from the big windows. The kitchen, while not huge, is fully equipped – there’s a small island with a built‑in stove, a dishwasher that actually works, and a fridge that’s big enough to hold all the groceries you’ll buy at the local market on Żabińskiego Street. I found the only thing that could use a touch more – a proper espresso machine – but the rest is solid. The bathroom is surprisingly bright; the tiles have that subtle chrome finish that catches the light just right, and the shower is a deep, relaxing rectangle that feels like a spa. I liked how the whole place smelled like fresh linen and a hint of citrus from the mint tea I brewed when I first arrived.
Now, about the surroundings – you’ll find that the neighborhood is a blend of history and modernity. If you wander down to the nearby Gdańsk University campus, you’ll see students hustling between lectures, and the campus library’s glass façade reflects the sky in a way that makes you pause. The shipyard, a quick 15‑minute walk away, offers a different kind of open air – the wind from the river always carries that salty, industrial scent that’s oddly comforting. For dinner, I took the tram to the Pijacka Street area, where local eateries serve pierogi and grilled herring; the street is a bit noisy at night, but the apartment’s soundproofing keeps you from hearing every clink and chatter. I also discovered that the best time to visit the museum on Gdańsk Square is early morning when the crowds are thinner, and you can actually sit and absorb the art without feeling rushed. The rating of 9 out of 10 is no exaggeration – it’s the kind of place that makes you feel both at home and slightly like you’re stepping into another era. So, if you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk and want a spot that’s both authentic and comfortable, Art Deco Apartment in Gdańsk should definitely be on your list.
Hotels in Gdansk offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this Baltic gem, with easy access to shipyards, museums, and coastal attractions.

Very nice and spacious apartment with high ceilings in an old charming building near the old docks. Very friendly host Karolina. Easy check in. Don't miss to walk to "100cznia" a food court surrounded by old dock buildings with graffiti walls, alternative art and clubs.
What could be improved: Our stay was too short, we hope to come back soon and book again this apartment.Santa from Latvia – 23 January 2024 (9/10)
Very lovely, comfortable, warm, spacious apartment in the city. City centre is aprx.10 minutes walk, but you can use taxi (it is cheap). Big, light bathroom with bath, even hair straightener was there (that's a plus). Everything needed for cooking. If travelling with small kids – kids bed, few toys. Some small food shops nearby. Our host was very welcoming, easy communication and check-in/check-out. Highly recommend! We had a great stay! 🙂
What could be improved: Need to improve:
1. Could be some oil for cooking.
2. Wine glasses in the kitchen.
3. We were 4 ladies – each of as wanted separate blanket, but there were only 2 fully equipped.
4. Need to clean couches in living room with chemicals, seemed dirty with spilled drinks or smth else…
5. Trash can in the bathroom.
6. Extra towels for kitchen, there was none…Daniela from United Kingdom – 29 August 2023 (8/10)

What could be improved: Everything was great!Stefan from Ireland – 2 January 2023 (8/10)
Very nice bathroom, floor was heated which is extraordinary. It had shower and bath. Everything in apartment is new
What could be improved: Just ordinary things. We only had 4 bath towels but no hand towels nor face towels were provided. We missed sugar a small things like that. I would invest in a one microwave which would be huge plus.Dimitris from Greece – 1 November 2022 (8/10)
Everything was more than good! Karolina is very kind and helpful host. Super clean apartment in a very nice location. High recommend.
