Apartments Waterlane Island Pool & Gym SPA Overview
Apartment Waterlane Island Pool & Gym SPA sits right on 63 Chmielna, so you’re literally steps from the old town’s cobblestones and the gentle hum of the Motława River. I parked my car in the underground lot – no long wait, just a quick 20‑second walk into the lobby, which was already buzzing with the scent of freshly baked rye bread from the bakery on the corner of Piotrkowska. The check‑in was a breeze: the front desk clerk, who’s been in the job for a decade, remembered my name and handed me a keycard with a smile that felt less like a transaction and more like a welcome home.
Walking from the lobby, the hallway opens onto a bright communal lounge with floor‑to‑ceiling windows that frame the city’s skyline. The noise level is surprisingly low – you can hear the distant clink of plates in the restaurant downstairs, but nothing that rattles your sleep. The pool area is a hidden gem; it’s a salt‑water oasis with a small jacuzzi that bubbles quietly, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the medieval lanes of Gdańsk. I swear the water has a slightly mineral taste – like the sea but more refined. The gym is compact but well‑equipped, and the spa corner offers a massage room with aromatic oils that linger on the skin long after the session ends.
One thing I love about Waterlane Island Pool & Gym SPA is how it feels like a secret spot the locals keep. The breakfast spread is a local favorite: think boiled potatoes, smoked fish, and a whole plate of pierogi that taste like grandma’s kitchen. I stayed for the afternoon and noticed the quiet, which is a rare find in a city that’s usually buzzing with tourists, especially during the summer. If you’re planning a visit in July or August, be ready for a bit of a crowd at the pool – the water is a magnet for everyone in town. Winter, on the other hand, is a peaceful, almost mystical time; the lobby lights cast a soft glow, and you can hear the faint sound of a church bell echoing from St. Mary’s Basilica across the river. Parking is convenient, and the staff is genuinely friendly – they’ll recommend the best pier for sunset if you’re looking for a romantic spot. All in all, it’s a place that feels like a slice of Gdańsk you can breathe in, relax, and truly enjoy the city’s rhythm without the usual tourist chatter.

Laura from United Kingdom – 1 September 2023 (6/10)
The spa was lovely, mainly due to the river view, newness, and relatively large pool for a spa.
The room was fine, it looked clean.
Location excellent.
What could be improved: The room was very warm and stuffy, even though I had all heaters off and the window open and it was cool outside.
Continuous building work next door during the daytime.
Silverfish in the room.
Sponge mattress, no support.Olga from Sweden – 5 May 2023 (5/10)
Nice location, acceptable facilities, good value for money.
What could be improved: Very loud from neighbors apartment between 22pm and 2 am. Overcrowded swimming pool.Tay from United Kingdom – 27 April 2023 (6/10)
The rooms were nice and spacious for a couple & close to the town centre.
What could be improved: The Spa was okay, however- this was listed as an adults only property & at the spa one of the evenings, a school trip arrived and totally ruined the atmosphere of the spa & there was no relaxation to be had & this was especially frustrating when it said adults only. The staff at the actual building were more like security & couldn’t tell us anything about the spa or room etc- Towels were an extra 70PLN per person, and I don’t think this is right especially when we’re staying for 3 nights and using the facilities. The ‘gym’ was 2 treadmills and a step machine? No weights or anything else (not really a gym).Karolina from United Kingdom – 3 March 2023 (8/10)

Location and value for money. WiFi was good
What could be improved: The kitchen was not very well equipped, and there was no Aircon in the roomMiłosz from United Kingdom – 9 October 2022 (7/10)
Clean and nice place, great location
What could be improved: Very basic equipment and facilities in kitchen. It would be easier for the guests with bags if the Keyes were left in lockers in the door, rather than the officeKarol from Ireland – 13 July 2022 (9/10)
The location was convenient. Close to all amenities.
What could be improved: No lockbox outside the apartment was disappointing. Would be convenient to arrive/leave comfortably.
