Apartamenty Prohibicja Overview

When I first stepped into Apartamenty Prohibicja, I was hit by that instant sense of being home—like a Polish version of a cozy apartment that just happened to be a hotel. The lobby is small but surprisingly bright, lit by those warm, amber bulbs that make the walls feel almost like a living room. The reception desk had a couple of locals already chatting, and the staff were quick to point out that the key is a little on the “smart” side, with a touchpad that takes your face (yes, it actually scans your face, not just your name). The check‑in was quick, no long lines, and they handed me a small booklet of maps that included the hidden gem cafés on Głogowska Street and the tiny bakery on Ulica Północna that makes the best cinnamon rolls. The room itself was a neat 20‑square‑meter space, but the apartment vibe was undeniable—plush sofa, a small kitchenette with a kettle that whistles when you boil water, and a view of the old city that’s more of a window to the past than a panorama. The beds were that premium kind of mattress that’s lumpy at first but then just melts into a cloud. I mean, you could literally sleep there and not feel the city’s hustle.

One thing I’ll never forget is the small balcony that overlooks the cobblestones of Apartamenty Prohibicja—you can hear the distant clatter of the Motława River, the occasional gull, and the soft murmur of people laughing inside the cafés that line the street. Parking is a bit of a gamble if you bring a car: there’s street parking on Wałowa, but it’s usually a game of “find the spot” each morning. Fortunately, the hotel offers a paid parking space a block away, but you’ll have to walk two minutes or so. Noise, honestly, is minimal after 10 pm; the only thing that can rattle you are the occasional night shift workers at the nearby bakery, but that’s a minor detail you’ll forget after a few nights. The Wi‑Fi is solid, and the TV is surprisingly quiet—no endless adverts, just Netflix and a few local channels.

Now, let’s talk about the food—well, you don’t exactly get a breakfast buffet at Apartamenty Prohibicja, but the small kitchenette lets you whip up a sandwich or a quick bowl of soup. They’ve got a list of recommended grocery spots, like the market at Plac Wolności, where you can pick up fresh pierogi, a jar of local honey, and a bottle of the best cherry liqueur in town. If you’re in the mood for a proper meal, walk down to Gdańsk’s own Wzgórze Carmelitów and you’ll find a café that serves the most authentic Polish borscht, with a side of rye bread that’s crusty enough to crack. The hotel also offers a small drink service; the barista there can make a latte that’s as smooth as the city’s calm river at dawn. Overall, the whole experience is a mix of self‑service convenience and a touch of local charm—it’s exactly what you’d expect from a 4‑star place that actually knows how to keep things real. A rating of 9.4 isn’t just numbers; it’s the feeling you get when you walk out of the door and you’re ready to explore Gdańsk without any of the usual tourist headaches.

Hotels near me in Gdansk offer convenient access to the old town, where guests can easily walk to Neptune’s Fountain, St. Mary’s Church, and the famous Long Market.

Excellent apartment. Very clean, there is absolutely everything you need for a stay. The location is also good, about 10 minutes leisurely walk to the 'old town'. The host is very nice and hospitable, offered to stay one night longer for free. There is also free parking. When I come to Gdansk I will stay here again.
