Apartamenty NAUTICA Gdańsk Overview
Apartamenty NAUTICA Gdańsk hit me like a secret that only locals know. I pulled up to Świętej Barbary 11, room 15, and the first thing that caught my eye was the little brass plaque that read the name in big, friendly letters. Check‑in was a breeze – the manager, a cheerful woman named Zofia, handed me the keys with a warm smile and a quick rundown of the building’s quirks. “No elevator for the first floor, so expect a bit of a climb, but the stairs are pretty narrow, so you’ll feel like you’re in a cozy old town,” she said, and honestly that’s exactly what it felt like. The building itself is a blend of 19th‑century brick and modern touches; you can see the original stonework peeking through the glass panels.
Once inside, the apartment feels like a home away from home, minus the need to do laundry at a laundromat down on Głogowska. The living area is surprisingly spacious, with a plush sofa that gives you the feeling of sinking into a cloud when you finally collapse after a day of wandering the Old Town. I was pleasantly surprised by the noise level – the city’s bustle is muffled by the thick walls, so you can hear the faint hum of traffic and the occasional church bell without it feeling intrusive. The kitchen is fully equipped, and there’s a small window that lets in plenty of natural light, making the place feel airy and bright. The bed is a real find: a king‑size mattress that’s supportive yet soft, and the linens are crisp enough to make you think you’re sleeping in a luxury hotel rather than a rented apartment.
Now, let’s talk practical stuff – parking, the noise, the local vibe. Parking in Gdańsk can be a nightmare, but here they offer a small parking deck just a block away, and the manager gave me a discounted rate for the week. You can also park on the street on Świętej Barbary – just be prepared for some early‑morning traffic, especially in the summer. If you’re staying during the tourist season, you’ll notice that the streets around the apartment are filled with cafés and bakeries. I stopped by a little place called „Cukiernia Skłańcz” across the street; the smell of fresh rye bread and espresso was a welcome aroma that instantly put me in a good mood. The only downside I found was the noise from the tram tracks a few blocks away, but it’s a low‑key rumble that barely interferes with a good night’s sleep.
When it comes to dining, the neighborhood is a treasure trove of local spots. A short walk south on Jagiellońska will take you to the famous „Rynek Starego Miasta” where you can try pierogi from a street vendor that’s been around for decades. For a more upscale meal, head to “Restauracja Bellwether” on Wyzwolenia; the seafood here is fresh, and the view of the Gdańsk River is a bonus. If you’re a fan of craft beers, there’s a tiny bar in the basement of the building that serves local brews on tap – definitely worth a visit after a long day. I left the apartment at around 10 p.m., and the lights were dimming, signaling that the city was winding down, which felt like a natural lull after the daytime hustle.
Overall, staying at Apartamenty NAUTICA Gdańsk felt like a step back into a more intimate Gdańsk. The blend of old‑world charm and modern convenience made it a perfect base for exploring the city. The staff were genuinely helpful, the apartment was clean, and the location was just the right mix of quiet and lively. If you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk and want to experience the city like a local, this place is a solid choice – just remember to bring a good pair of walking shoes and a sense of adventure.

All attractions are within walking distance. Almost the center. Quiet place. The photographs are true to reality. There is tea and coffee. Thank you!
What could be improved: Advice to apartment owners: pay attention to the cleanliness of the bed linen and shower head. And my fault was that I did not notice the absence of a washing machine in the description, it was a surprise for me.Justyna from Poland – 2 April 2024 (10/10)
