Apartamenty Gdańsk EU – Waterlane Overview
Apartamenty Gdańsk EU – Waterlane sits right on ul. Szafarnia, a stone’s throw from the Motława River. I remember the first time I walked up the street: the scent of fresh bread from a bakery on Motławska, the clatter of tram wheels, and that faint buzz of the harbor traffic that never really stops in this part of the city. You know what? The hotel’s windows open onto a view that feels both city and waterfront, which is a pretty sweet compromise if you’re trying to escape the bustle of the Old Town but still want that historic vibe.
The check‑in was quick, no long lines, and the front desk staff were genuinely friendly—no stiff corporate vibe, just a couple of locals who could point you to the best pier for sunset. They handed over a keycard that worked for both the room and the small lounge area, so it felt like a home base rather than a place you’re staying at. I found the rooms to be well‑designed with a modern aesthetic: neutral walls, a comfy king bed, and those large windows that let the city light flood in. Wi‑Fi was solid, which is always a relief when you’re on a tight schedule. The bathroom had a nice glass shower and a decent amount of space—no cramped bathrooms that you see in older hotels.
One of the things I appreciated was the quietness during the night. The street below is lively during the day, so you might hear the hum of scooters and the occasional shout from a nearby bar, but by midnight it’s almost like a lullaby. If you’re a light sleeper, that’s a win. Parking is a bit of a challenge if you’re driving, because the streets around ul. Szafarnia are narrow and usually full, but the hotel does have a small paid parking spot a block away, which is handy if you’re not into walking. The hotel’s own parking is a bit limited, so I’d recommend leaving it to the city’s public parking lots if you can.
Breakfast was the sort of local experience you’re hoping for: a small selection of pastries, a good Polish coffee, and a bowl of fruit. It wasn’t a huge spread, but it did the job. The lounge area has a small bar that serves a decent selection of wines and a couple of local beers—perfect for a pre-dinner drink. I ended up chatting with a couple of other guests who were also staying in the same building; we swapped travel tips about the best pier spots and where to catch a ferry to Westerplatte.
I’d say Apartamenty Gdańsk EU – Waterlane is ideal if you’re looking for a 4‑star stay that feels more like a local pad than a tourist trap. The 9.1 rating makes sense because the hotel offers solid value: clean rooms, friendly service, and a prime spot that’s close to the Old Town, the ferry terminal, and the train station. The only downside, honestly, is the lack of a full-service breakfast, but the quality of the food they do serve is more than enough. If you’re traveling during the peak season, you’ll want to book early because the area can get pretty crowded, especially near the waterfront. If you’re there during the quieter months, you get the chance to soak in the city’s rhythm without the usual noise and crowds. All in all, it’s a spot that feels like a home away from home, with just enough polish to make you feel comfortable and a touch of local flavor that keeps things interesting.

What could be improved: Missing extra towers -especially with access to pool. missing paper towels in kitchen
David from United Kingdom – 21 October 2024 (9/10)
Great location and good instructions from host for our arrival
Synnøve from Norway – 23 September 2024 (10/10)
It was clean and nice. Good contact on phone with the staff.
What could be improved: I would like to get the last mail a bit earlier before we came, then I will know the information a bit earlier how to get the key and also how to check out. But everything else was great 👍👍👍Ramona from United States – 25 August 2024 (10/10)
Everything was clean and well stocked. Great location and quiet.
What could be improved: The pool and spa only allowed 20 people at a time sue to size, but there was not maximum time set so there were lines of people all the time and sometimes you could not get in even to use the sauna. The woman downstairs was yelling at the people and criticizing a woman for not speaking good enough Polish. I believe she was frustrated because she had to turn people away but you don't yell at people and make them feel bad when they are trying to speak Polish. That type of position really demands that the person speak at least English and polish to help with all the foreigners.David from United States – 14 June 2024 (10/10)

Nice and cozy apartment that suits big family or group of friends. In the very middle of old city close to the restaurants and main attractions.
What could be improved: Parking is a little bit complicated. Check out instructions were not provided. Host did not reply to the messages and calls.Laura from Lithuania – 5 November 2023 (8/10)
Beautiful place, amazing view from the window. But otherwise, a simple apartment in a large building. Neat, clean, modern. The 2 bedrooms are separated by a glass wall that is slightly transparent. The sheets and pillow are not very comfortable. There is a Dolce Gusto coffee machine in the kitchen, but no capsules. There is water in the fridge. There is also a kettle and tea. There is a spa area with a pool on the lower floor of the building, but I would recommend going there only with small children, because it is a real kindergarten.
What could be improved: Parking is additionally paid, although the apartment has a separate parking lot.
SPA is a kindergarten. Noisy and crowdedGail from United Kingdom – 26 September 2023 (8/10)
Nice roof terrace and secure location
What could be improved: Needed a stand up shower. There stairs were a bit unsafe.Tomas from Czech Republic – 27 July 2023 (10/10)
