Apartament rodzinny Overview

Apartament rodzinny is tucked away on Rajska 8, just a stone’s throw from the bustling Motława River promenade. I pulled into the small parking lot right beside the building, and the first thing that hit me was the scent of fresh lemon pastries wafting from the bakery across the street – that’s a sign that you’re in the right neighborhood. The check‑in was surprisingly quick; the lady at the desk handed me a keycard with a smile and a sly wink, like she knew I’d be staying for the weekend and wanted to ease the usual rush. Honestly, the lobby’s low hum of conversation and the faint clink of coffee cups made me feel instantly at home.

The apartment itself is a two‑bedroom flat that feels more like a cozy loft than a hotel room. The living area is spread out, with a plush sofa that creaks just a little when you get comfortable – that’s the only sound you’ll hear, except for the occasional distant traffic. The kitchen is fully equipped, and I found a tiny espresso machine that actually pulls a decent shot. The linens are thick and soft, and the towels feel like a warm hug after a long day of sightseeing. When I slept, the noise level was surprisingly low; the building’s walls are pretty solid, so the only thing that managed to sneak in was the soft murmur of the street below.

I wouldn’t say Apartament rodzinny has a spa, but the small balcony offers a perfect spot to sip a glass of wine while watching the sunset over the old port. The air smells like sea salt and fresh bread, and you can hear the gulls calling overhead. There’s a small garden at the back of the building, a hidden gem that locals use for morning yoga – I saw a group of people in bright yoga pants stretching in the early light. On the first morning, I took a stroll down Gdańska Street and found a tiny coffee shop that serves the best “kawa z mlekiem” in town. You’ll notice the barista’s name is written in chalk on the wall, which feels like a personal touch, hinting that this place is a community hub, not just a tourist spot.

If you’re planning to stay during the high season, keep in mind that the area gets lively around 6 p.m. and the night can be a little noisy, especially with the nightclubs on Brzeźno and the clubhouses along Rakowicka. But by 10 p.m., the streets quiet down and the only sound is the occasional car passing by. Parking is free on the street for the first 30 minutes, then there’s a small fee; the building also offers a secure underground spot for a modest rate. When I checked out, the front desk staff handed me a small bag of local honey and a map with handwritten notes on where to find the best pierogi stalls – no tourist trap here.

In short, Apartament rodzinny is a slice of Gdańsk that feels like a local’s home rather than a polished hotel. The folks who run it know the city like the back of their hand, so the tips you get are genuine. The building’s atmosphere, the soft textures of the furnishings, and the subtle fragrance of the sea blend together to create a stay that feels both comfortable and authentically Polish. If you’re looking for a place that’s not just a place to sleep but a place to live a little, this is the one. The only critique? The Wi‑Fi password changes every month, so you’ll need to ask for the new code on arrival – but that’s a small price to pay for the charm of a real, lived‑in space.

The property is just right by the old town and is amazingly cozy and well kept. The host Joanna was extremely helpful at each step and I will definitely recommend booking this place for anyone visiting Gdansk.

  • Anne from Denmark – 13 February 2025 (10/10)

Really nice apartment, very good and close to everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable. We will be back again to stay and enjoy Gdansk.

  • Ruiqian from Sweden – 7 January 2025 (10/10)

I really enjoyed this accommodation! It is very well located, just a few minutes from the central train station, next to the Amber Museum, and downstairs there are various supermarkets and restaurants. The house is fully equipped with all necessities, and the decoration and furnishings are particularly cozy, with very elaborate decorations and a beautiful Christmas tree!Joanna was a very welcoming and helpful host, the restaurant that she recommended was very good, and the welcome snacks were delicious! If I would come back to Gdansk I would definitely choose this accommodation again!

What could be improved: Everything is perfect

  • Bora from Denmark – 1 December 2024 (9/10)

Good location, everything is in walking distance. Quite location yet, you can get anything you need from the street. New building with all the amenities you need. The host has a quite nice taste for decoration. Apartment was very clean. It was really nice that they have toys and coloring books etc for kids, as well as some other books to know the area.

  • Padache from Sweden – 18 November 2024 (10/10)

Comfortable living space , great location , amenities

  • Peter from United Kingdom – 12 September 2024 (10/10)

There were all the amenities you could want and plenty of extras too. For example there was sugar, tea coffee , toiletries probably left from previous occupants but still there so we didn’t, have to buy salt or some other things which all add to the expense of self catering. The apartment was modern but with lovely homely touches so it didn’t feel sterile but real home from home.

What could be improved: I can honestly say there was nothing negative to say about it.

  • Bethany from United Kingdom – 3 September 2024 (10/10)

Very cozy and nice apartment with everything you would need for your full comfort. Good location. Comfortable beds. Large balcony. There were toys for the kids, books, etc. The host answered all the questions and let us in earlier. Would definetly come back! 💯
