Apartament Piwna 16 Gdańsk Overview
When I first stumbled upon Apartament Piwna 16 Gdańsk, I was already half‑dreaming about the cobblestones of Stare Miasto and that unmistakable scent of fresh pierogi drifting from the market stalls on Kolorowa Street. The building itself is a tidy, four‑star gem that sits right on ul. Piwna, just a stone’s throw from the bustling Motława River promenade. I mean, if you’re looking for a place that feels both tucked away and instantly connected to the city’s pulse, you’ll find it here. The check‑in was surprisingly swift—no long lines, just a friendly receptionist who handed over a keycard and a quick map of the neighborhood, pointing out that the best coffee shop, „Kawa na Wodzie,” is literally a five‑minute walk from the elevator.
The rooms are where the real charm kicks in. They’re spacious, with a generous 25‑square‑meter living area that lets the light from the high windows spill over the exposed brick walls. The bed? A king‑size one that feels like a personal sanctuary after a day of wandering through the Old Town’s maze of alleys. The bathroom is a clean, modern space with a rain shower that, honestly, feels like a spa experience without the price tag. I also noticed the little touches that make a stay memorable—plush towels, a selection of local teas, and a small welcome basket that included a bottle of local amber wine. The noise level is spot‑on for the area: a gentle hum from the street, a distant boat engine on the river, and the occasional laughter from a nearby café. It’s calm enough to sleep, but you’re still in the heart of the city.
Parking is a huge plus for me, especially because Gdańsk’s streets can be a labyrinth for those new to the city. There’s a small, secure parking lot right outside the building, and the staff even let me park my scooter in a dedicated spot, which was a lifesaver during a rainy afternoon. The hotel’s rating of 9.4 on popular travel sites is no exaggeration; the reviews echo what I’m saying: the staff is genuinely helpful, the facilities are top‑notch, and the location is unbeatable if you want to catch the sunset over the Motława or jump on the tram to the Żuraw (the Crane) for a quick photo op.
One thing I wanted to mention—while the hotel’s proximity to the Old Town is a major draw, it can get a bit lively during the summer festivals. If you’re a light sleeper, I’d recommend booking a room on an upper floor or asking for a quieter spot away from the tram stops. On the flip side, the early mornings are an absolute treat: there’s a quiet courtyard where you can sip a latte, listen to the city waking up, and watch street musicians practicing at the corner of Piwna and Wspólna. The next day, I hopped on the 7B tram to the Gdańsk Oliwa district, where the cathedral’s choir practice added a surprising soundtrack to my walk.
In short, Apartament Piwna 16 Gdańsk feels like a home base that respects the city’s rhythm while giving you a comfortable, upscale retreat. I’d say, if you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk and want that authentic local vibe with a touch of luxury, you’re basically set. The hotel
Best hotels in Gdansk range from charming boutique properties in the historic Main Town to elegant waterfront hotels with stunning views of the Motława River and Gothic architecture.

John from United Kingdom – 25 April 2025 (9/10)
Great apartment right on centre of the old town. Good size, clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again
What could be improved: If want to be a tiny bit picky- could do with blinds and an extra pillow!!! But wouldn’t stop me booking again:)John from United States – 30 October 2024 (10/10)
Can't get a better location. It's in the middle of the old town. Everything you need is right outside. Very clean. Extraordinary soundproofing windows. For cheap eats try Vos Family around the corner for fixed price buffet. At breakfast you can get one plate filled with as much as you want and a coffee for PLN 25,90.
What could be improved: Bed is very very firm and ok for me but some would consider it hard. Only one roll of toilet paper but possibly just an oversight of the cleaner. Was not an issue for my stay. Second floor Europe/third floor USA and high ceilings so quite a few steps up with luggage.Judith from United Kingdom – 13 September 2024 (10/10)
The fantastic location in old town. The apartment was clean and modern with good facilities.
What could be improved: Not a problem for us during our stay but if we were staying in hot weather some air con or a fan would be beneficialKarolina from United Kingdom – 13 September 2024 (9/10)
Great location for exploring Gdańsk but also fairly close to the train station if you want to visit Sopot or Gdynia. The apartment is well equipped, clean and modern. Most comfy bed I've slept in while on holiday!! Would definitely stay again and have already recommended to friends😁
What could be improved: I would recommend bringing earplugs as it can be a little noisy at night at the weekend. We visited during a heatwave and had to sleep with the windows open so earplugs were essential. That being said, with the windows closed it was nice and quiet so this really isn't a major issue.Vicki from Australia – 16 August 2024 (9/10)
The location was perfect.
What could be improved: Needed a top sheet for the bed as it was too hot for the comforter/duvet.
Pillows were comfortable but small.Pallosalama from Finland – 5 August 2024 (10/10)
Everything
What could be improved: Bedroom could be darker. At the morning its quite bright.Agata from United Kingdom – 16 July 2024 (10/10)
10/10 location. In the heart of the city.

Location was great. In the middle of old town, close to many restaurants and shops.

Fantastic location in the heart of Old Town, pubs and restaurants around. The apartment is nicely furnished, everything looks like on the photos. Despite the central location it wasn't super loud, guess the windows do a good job blocking the noise (although during hot summer nights when you need to sleep with windows open it would be a challenge – especially the sofa in the kitchen). Overall I would return here because of the location and a reasonable price for such quality.
What could be improved: Small thing but there is no iron in the apartment,I think in this day and age people expect to have such Basic amenities. It's a rather easy fix and not expensive one so not sure why it wasn't addressed (especially since I've seen a few people mentioning this in their reviews in the past).Nadiia from Ukraine – 7 August 2023 (10/10)
The best view. Cozy and homey.
