Apartament Palermo Overview

Apartament Palermo sits on a quiet corner of 5 Asesora, just a stone’s throw from the bustling Gdańsk waterfront. I remember walking down the cobblestones, hearing the distant clink of clogs on the old harbor and catching the scent of freshly baked rye bread from the bakery on Ulica Wiśniowa. The hotel itself feels like a hidden gem—four‑star polish but with that kind of warmth you only find in places that locals still frequent. When I first checked in, the staff welcomed me with a warm smile and handed over a map that had doodles of the nearest pierogi stand and a note on the best time to catch the tram to the old town. Honest, the reception was quick, the keycard was ready, and they even offered a complimentary bottle of local beer—no, not the usual touristy brand, but a small-batch brew from the Gdańsk brewery that has been around since the 1800s.

The room was spacious, with a view that made you want to stay up all night just to watch the sun set over the Baltic. I swear the windows looked out onto the same stretch of sea that the fishermen used to navigate before they got the GPS. The bed was comfy—think plush, yet not overly cushy—and the linen had that subtle, fresh scent that you get when a hotel has a good cleaning routine. On the balcony, you could hear the faint hum of the city, the sea breeze, and the occasional shout of a fisherman calling out to his crew. The Wi‑Fi was a bit spotty at first, but after a quick call to the front desk, it was back to normal—just a reminder that even in a four‑star place, some tech hiccups happen. Parking is a bit of a scavenger hunt if you’re driving; the closest spot is in the small underground lot on Apartament Palermo’s own street, but the city offers plenty of free street parking a few blocks away, and the locals swear the best spots are right next to the old fish market.

The real charm, though, comes from the little details I picked up during my stay. There’s a tiny café on Apartament Palermo’s street, Braciarnia, which serves the most amazing grilled cheese sandwiches—think cheddar and smoked ham, with a side of homemade pickles. It’s so small you could mistake it for a hidden speakeasy. Another thing that struck me was the quietness during the early mornings—boats were just beginning to pull in, and the whole neighborhood was hushed, almost reverent. If you’re looking for a place to unwind after a day of sightseeing, the hotel’s rooftop terrace is a game changer. You can sit on a comfy chair, sip a glass of local wine, and watch the sunrise over the old port, all while hearing the distant call of gulls and the soft chatter of early‑morning shoppers on Apartament Palermo’s street.

All in all, staying at Apartament Palermo felt like having a personal guide to Gdańsk. The staff knew everyone in the city, the staff even had a recipe for pierogi they could share if you asked. If you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk, I’d say this place is worth a visit—especially if you want to experience the city like a local, with all the sensory details that make travel memorable. You’ll get the comfort of a modern hotel, the authenticity of a neighborhood spot, and a few insider secrets that make your trip feel truly special.

Reviews of Apartament Palermo

What could be improved: Если очень придираться, то в душе хочется полку для шампуня.

  • Zuzana from Czech Republic – 12 September 2023 (6/10)

You can go to next house fór coffee made made from coffee beans anytime ..

What could be improved: The place is a basicaly garage what you dont see from pictures.. So through that entry "for car" Are crossing a lot of people who are acommodate from the next house.. So there Is not that much privacy :/ Also the floor is not level if you sleep on the sofa bed, you will both slide down to one side. The small walk-through room has an old feather mattress and a small window with which you can't ventilate anything..
