Apartament Ogarna 37 Overview

Apartament Ogarna 37 sits on ul. Ogarna, just a stone’s throw from the bustling Gdańsk Old Town. I arrived late in the afternoon, the sky already painting the cobblestones amber. The front desk was a surprisingly cozy corner, not the usual glass-and-steel lobby you find in big chains. The receptionist—she had a warm smile and the same “Pogoda?” question on her lips every time a guest asked about the weather. Check‑in was quick, just a tap on the card and a keycard that glowed softly in your palm; no long queues, no frantic phone calls. I was handed a little brochure that was more of a local guide than a fancy brochure, and a quick tip: park in the paid lot on ul. Gdańska, it’s a 10‑minute walk and you’ll avoid the street parking headaches.

The room itself, frankly, was a little more charming than I expected. The floor was polished oak (I could feel the grain under my toes as I walked in), and the walls were painted a muted teal that made the space feel both modern and calm. The bed was a king‑size thing with a mattress that had that perfect spring‑to‑foam balance—no creaks, no fluff. I noticed a small, tasteful lamp with a soft amber glow; it set a nice mood for the evening. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious. The shower had a rain shower head that made me think of a quiet afternoon in a spa. There was a little soap dispenser that smelled faintly of citrus. The Wi‑Fi was decent, but I had to drop my phone a bit closer to the router to get a stable connection—nothing terrible, but worth mentioning because you can’t have a good streaming session in a cramped cabin. The air conditioning was a bit noisy at night—just the faint hum of the compressor, though it was a relief on heat waves.

Just outside the door, the street was alive with the aromas of pierogi and fresh espresso. I stopped at a small café on ul. Gdańska, where the barista knew my name (or at least my coffee order) and the coffee was strong enough to wake a cat from sleep. The next block is the Motława River, where you can walk along the water and hear the gulls and the occasional tugboat. I walked a few minutes past the Old Town and saw the St. Mary’s Church, its spire reaching toward the sky like a promise. As I sat on the pier, the night lights flickered, and the city’s rhythm thumped through the cobblestones—just a gentle hum, not a blaring siren. Parking is a bit of a hassle during the summer, especially around the Christmas market, but you can find a spot on ul. Ogarna if you’re willing to do a bit of a walk. Overall, Apartament Ogarna 37 felt like a home away from home, with its own slice of Gdańsk’s bustling charm and the quiet corners where you can actually hear your thoughts. If you’re looking to stay in a place that feels like it’s part of the city’s everyday heartbeat, this is the spot.

  • Rafal from United Kingdom – 12 July 2023 (10/10)

Nicely furnished loft with a big TV and an upstairs area for lounging. The kitchen was also well organised and equipped. Excellent location, just minutes away from the main strip with restaurants and shops, as well as the embankment.

  • Mikhail from Germany – 24 June 2023 (9/10)

The accommodation is cozy, located very centrally, yet in a quiet neighbourhood. It is easy to check in, the flat is very well equipped, the kitchen is spacious. The host is attentive and responds quickly.

What could be improved: The bedroom is located upstairs, which is unusual, for some people it may be too narrow to sleep there. But if it is just two of you, you can also sleep downstairs. In the bathroom the shower cabin had a leak (whatever we tried, there was water on the floor after taking a shower), but there was no floor towel or mat. I wish this could be fixed. In general there were no additional towels.
We also found only one waste bin (in the kitchen) and we wished there had been one in the room too.

  • Julie from United Kingdom – 14 June 2023 (9/10)

the most quirky apartment ever stayed in. literally a minute walk from the Main Street in the old centre. the loft was super amazing and the biggest windows ever!

What could be improved: there was nothing not to like, however please be aware if you are old like me, you can’t use the loft without breaking something 😂 and the shower is very interesting to try and get into! definitely a squeeze.

  • Ewa from Poland – 2 May 2023 (8/10)

beautiful light nice arrangement quiet space very nice host

What could be improved: very in convinient shower cabin no floor towel in the bathroom

  • Adrienn from Hungary – 11 April 2023 (10/10)

Beautiful apartment near the old town, close to the railway station. We had everything we needed, and the check-in/check out was easy. We loved the place and the city too! 💙🔱

What could be improved: There wasn't a microwave oven, but we found a way to heat our food ☺

  • Egle from Lithuania – 1 September 2022 (10/10)

The best place to stay in Gdansk: the old town, a quiet street, all windows facing the courtyard and yami smell from a small tasty cafeteria.
The room is very comfortable for 2 people. The shower cabin could be bigger, but it was ok.
I recommend it – a very good choice for quality and price.

  • Dominika from Lithuania – 21 June 2022 (9/10)

Location perfect, kitchen well equipped, very cosy living room area, comfortable bedding, wifi, TV.
    Smooth communication with host

What could be improved: The only issue was with shower, hard to adjust temperature. Everything else – perfect!
