Apartament Mariacka w sercu Gdańska Overview
Apartament Mariacka w sercu Gdańska is tucked right off the cobblestoned stretch of Mariacka Street, just a stone’s throw from the old town’s bustling market square. I remember stepping out of the elevator and being hit by that unmistakable scent of freshly baked pierogi wafting from the café on Długa. The check‑in was quick and friendly; the staff greeted me with a warm smile and even handed me a small map of the neighborhood with a handwritten note: “Don’t miss the hidden bakery on Chmielna.” They didn’t rush, but they got me into my room before the city’s evening lights flickered on, which is a relief if you’re trying to avoid the late‑night traffic that snakes through the alleyways.
The room itself feels like a cozy apartment rather than a hotel suite, which makes sense given the place’s name. The walls are painted in warm neutrals that echo the amber tones of Gdańsk’s old timbered houses. I liked that the bedroom had a huge window overlooking the canal; at night the water glimmered with reflections of the street lamps, creating a calm backdrop that made the 8.9 rating feel earned. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious—there’s a deep soaking tub that’s perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the Motława River. The shower had a good water pressure, but I noticed that the hot water tap had a slight metallic taste, which is a minor quibble worth noting. The linens were crisp and the pillows were just the right firmness for a restful night, and the in‑room Wi‑Fi was consistently reliable, which is a lifesaver for those of us who still need to send a quick email.
When it comes to amenities, Apartament Mariacka w sercu Gdańska keeps things simple but functional. There’s a communal kitchen with a decent set of cookware and a small fridge that’s surprisingly roomy. I cooked a quick breakfast of eggs and local cheese, and it tasted like a real Gdańsk treat. The kitchenette also has a kettle—no need to hunt down a coffee shop for that first cup of espresso. The only thing I found lacking was a dedicated laundry service; I had to take a short walk to the laundromat on Słowackiego Street, which is a bit inconvenient if you’re staying for a week. Parking is a bit of a challenge, though. The building’s underground lot is limited and often full during the high season (late spring to early autumn). I ended up using a paid parking spot on Głowa Street, which is a few minutes’ walk but still a hassle if you’re carrying luggage. Noise-wise, the hotel does a decent job isolating sound. The only time I felt the city’s roar was during the early morning shift change at the nearby market, but that was quiet enough that I didn’t miss a beat of sleep. The staff were always approachable and seemed genuinely invested in making your stay comfortable; one night they even handed me a small jar of local honey as a thank‑you for staying in the winter—thoughtful touches like that make a difference.
If you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk, Apartament Mariack sercu Gdańska is a solid choice, especially if you value a home‑like vibe over flashy hotel suites. I’d recommend arriving early in the morning to beat the crowds at the check‑in desk and to secure a parking spot if you have a car. The area is a delightful mix of historic charm and modern convenience: you can hop on the tram from the corner near the hotel and be in the old town in a few minutes, or you can wander along the harbor to catch the sunset over the Motława. Just remember that the night markets can get lively, so if you’re a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs. All in all, the experience felt genuine and not overly polished—exactly the sort of place that makes you feel like you’re part of the city’s everyday rhythm rather than just a tourist passing through.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Gdansk at least two months ahead for major events like St. Dominic’s Fair, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near historic attractions.

Reviews of Apartament Mariacka w sercu Gdańska
Gill from United Kingdom – 18 April 2025 (8/10)
The location is excellent. The property is spacious, clean, well equipped and good value for money.
What could be improved: Some extra towels would have been good. The ones provided were small and there was only one each.Wilhelm from Norway – 22 February 2025 (9/10)
The location is simply perfect. The apartment is big enough and very comfortable for my family of four. The communication with the host was very efficient and effective. I loved the fact that I could park the rented car we had and that made everything much easier for us. Internet access and quality was great.
What could be improved: I would suggest a french press so the coffee making in the morning would be easier. It is a minor detail but for coffee lovers it would mean a huge difference.Katerinasoroka from Estonia – 1 December 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: //Jordan from United Kingdom – 13 July 2024 (9/10)
Roomy apartment, excellent location right in the middle of the Old Town with many restaurants and bars and the river on the doorstep.
What could be improved: In the height of summer it would have been handy to have air con, we did know the apartment didn't have it before going and in the north of Poland it probably only gets hot enough for air con a few weeks a year so can totally understand.Rokas from Lithuania – 2 January 2024 (9/10)
Parking at the appartment door in city center. Appartment clean and cosy. Host was really helpful. One of the best experiences. 😊
