Apartament Letycja Overview

Apartament Letycja sits on Długa Grobla, right off the main street that juts into the historic Old Town. I pulled up just before sunset, and the first thing that hit me was the smell of fresh coffee from a tiny café on Młynowa—there’s a real, almost nostalgic aroma of roasted beans that stays with you. The building itself feels like a blend of old brickwork and modern glass, a bit like the contrast you see between Gdańsk’s medieval lanes and the sleek shapes of the new waterfront development. The front desk was surprisingly quick; the clerk asked if I’d been on the ferry today, then handed me a keycard that worked almost instantly. (Honestly, the check‑in was smoother than most places in the city, which is a relief when you’re still jet‑lagged.)

When I stepped into my room, the first thing I noticed was the soft, muted noise from the street—just enough to remind me I’m in a lively city, but not so loud that I can’t fall asleep. The bed was surprisingly comfortable; the mattress has that right level of fluffiness that most of the 4‑star hotels in Poland struggle to hit. Dining-wise, there’s a small kitchenette with a decent coffee maker—great for late‑night espresso shots or a quick breakfast before heading out. The Wi‑Fi was a bit spotty in the hallway, but the room’s own signal was solid. (I mean, you could stream a movie or work on a presentation without a hitch, which is a huge plus if you’re traveling for business.)

What really makes Apartament Letycja feel like a local’s spot is the way the staff drop hints about hidden gems. The concierge recommended a tucked‑away pastry shop on Szeroka, and mentioned that the best pierogi in town can be found a block away on Żołnierska. I followed the advice and ended up at a small family‑run place where the dough was perfectly chewy and the fillings were generous. The next day, I walked along the Motława River, and the view from the building’s balcony—just a few floors up—gave me a fresh perspective on the city’s old brick warehouses and the modern glass towers of the Gdynia district. Parking is available, but it’s a short walk to the nearest public parking lot on Długi Most, which is handy if you’re rushing between flights.

In short, Apartament Letycja is a solid choice for anyone who wants a comfortable, centrally located stay without the generic buzz of a chain hotel. The staff’s local knowledge, the quiet, well‑maintained rooms, and the proximity to both historic and contemporary spots make it a feel‑good, hassle‑free experience. If you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk, this place will keep you grounded—both literally and figuratively—while still letting you soak in all the city’s charm.

Hotels in Gdansk offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this Baltic gem, with easy access to shipyards, museums, and coastal attractions.

In a really good location just a short walk outside Gdansk. It was so clean and well stocked with glasses, crockery etc. The host was extremely helpful and prompt at answering messages.

What could be improved: The beds weren’t the comfiest I’ve ever slept in whilst away but no biggie.

  • Martoosh from Poland – 8 April 2025 (9/10)

Nice location, the apartment itself clean and comfy, additional toilet is a big plus, especially when you travel with more people. Kitchen has everything you might need for a short stay. Private parking in the underground garage. Would choose this place again:)

Very clean and tidy with all the facilities needed for a couple or family. Good security also so we felt comfortable staying. The apartment is very modern and a really nice stay. Dawid the host was very helpful also.

What could be improved: The apartment could do with a couple of electric fans as it was very warm at night. Apart from that it had everything needed and is highly recommended

  • Clare from United Kingdom – 13 July 2024 (10/10)

Lovely apartment, comfortable beds ,excellent facilities, great sunny balcony,10 minute walk to historic centre, easy check-in

What could be improved: It was all great One tiny point, a mirror above dressing table in main bedroom would be useful (there's a full length one so not a major issue)

  • Michael from United Kingdom – 22 June 2024 (10/10)

The property is in a great location around 10 mins walk to many bars and restaurants so ideal . There is a large balcony wrapping around the property which gets the sun must of the day so it’s ideal to sit and chat and have a breakfast in the morning. Everything you need is there to enjoy your stay . Within 100 yards there is a supermarket , Take away , taxi rank , etc . The apartment is on the 3rd floor with a lift in the property which helped our group which were over 60 lol . Some nice local restaurants within 200 yards
I would not hesitate to rebook this property

    What could be improved: Nothing
