Apartament Kapitalny Overview
Apartament Kapitalny sits on Aleja Generała Józefa Hallera, a street that feels like a quiet back‑road of the old market, yet just a stone’s throw from the bustling Motława promenade. I first spotted it on a rainy Thursday in early October—the neon sign flickered through the mist, and the lobby’s warm lighting seemed to promise a refuge from the damp. The check‑in was surprisingly snappy; the front desk staff greeted me with a friendly “Dzień dobry” and handed over a small keycard that looked almost like a piece of modern art. There’s a little twist: they asked for a photo ID, which is standard, but they also offered a complimentary map of Gdańsk with handwritten notes—like a local’s secret guide.
The rooms are a blend of contemporary Polish design and practical comfort. The bed—wow, it’s the kind that feels like a hug after a long day of walking the cobblestone streets of Stare Miasto. I almost fell asleep on the sofa in the living area, which is tucked away from the street noise thanks to double‑glazed windows. If you’re a morning person, the window frames a view of the old harbor, and the gentle hum of the city’s traffic is almost like background music. The bathroom is sleek, with a walk‑in shower that has a rainfall option; the water temperature is perfect, and the soap dispenser smells like citrus—quite refreshing after a day in the cold Baltic air. I did notice the towel rack a bit flimsy, but that’s a minor quibble that doesn’t bother the overall vibe.
Parking is a mixed bag. There’s a paid underground lot a block away, but you’ll need a parking permit or the hotel’s parking voucher, which I rented for a few nights. The lot’s lighting is decent, though it can get a bit chilly in winter—so bring a jacket. For those who prefer to walk or bike, the area is very pedestrian‑friendly. The nearest tram stop is just a 5‑minute stroll, and I walked past a cozy café called Coffee and Culture that serves espresso with a side of traditional Polish pastries—think paczki that melt in your mouth. You can also catch a short bus to the Royal Way, where you’ll find the Royal Castle and the stunning Gdańsk Crane. The hotel’s location means you’re never more than a 10‑minute walk from the harbor’s clanging cranes and the smell of fresh fish from the market stalls.
The staff at Apartament Kapitalny are genuinely friendly. They were ready to recommend the best spots for pierogi, and one of them even took me to a hidden speakeasy in the Old Town that’s known only to locals. The noise level inside the hotel is low, especially on the upper floors, and the building’s insulation keeps the wind from the harbor out, which is a nice relief after a day exploring the waterfront. The only slight downside is the Wi‑Fi speed—it’s fine for browsing, but if you’re streaming something, you might want to use a mobile hotspot. But honestly, that’s a small trade‑off for the overall experience. In short, Apartament Kapitalny feels like a modern, comfortable nest that blends local charm with practical conveniences, making it a top pick for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in Gdańsk’s lively yet relaxed atmosphere.

Apartament bardzo ładny, nowocześnie urządzony. W środku czysto i schludnie.

We do like everything. Apartment was very clean. Easy to reach and closed to the beach. Have a facilities. Balcony . Kitchen was really modern . Only one thing what I would be add to the kitchen its microwave. But in general it's a 100% best place to stay. Will definitely back there again in the future.
