Apartament Kameralny nad Motławą Overview

Apartament Kameralny nad Motławą sits on Tobiasza 8B, right on the banks of the Motława, and honestly, that’s the first thing that grabs you when you step out of the front door. The building itself is a classic Gdańsk mix of brick and glass – a little old‑world charm with a modern twist. You can hear the distant hum of the harbor, the gulls calling, and the occasional barge passing by. The staff greet you with a warm smile and a steaming cup of coffee that smells like cinnamon and freshly baked rye, which instantly feels like home. Check‑in is quick; they show you a small, handwritten map with the best hidden cafés and a shortcut to the Crane, and you’re already halfway to exploring the city. Parking is a bit of a hunt, but there’s a paid underground garage behind the hotel and a few spots on the corner of Tobiasza and Stawki if you’re lucky – just watch the signs, the city’s parking meter game can be a bit chaotic. The rooms are cozy, with a view of the Motława that changes from misty dawn to a glittering sunset; the windows are well‑sealed, so the city noise is pretty much muffled, though you’ll hear the occasional street performer on the square below.

The real magic of Apartament Kameralny nad Motławą is how close you feel to the heart of Gdańsk. A short walk takes you to the Old Town – the market square, St. Mary’s Church, the bustling fish market – all within a stroll that feels more like a leisurely wander than a hurried tour. If you’re after something a bit quieter, the hotel’s corner on Tobiasza gives you a calm courtyard where you can sip an espresso and watch the world go by. The hotel staff are locals, so they’ll point you to the best pier for a sunset view or the best pierogi spot on Ścianowa Street. And if you’re traveling with a pet, there’s a small patch of green nearby where the dog can run free – no need to worry about the city’s more hectic zones. The Wi‑Fi is decent, but just a heads‑up: if you’re near the harbor, the signal can dip a bit – just a quick tap on your phone to reconnect if you need it.

Timing matters in Gdańsk, and Apartament Kameralny nad Motławą makes it easy to beat the crowds. Early spring or late autumn are the sweet spots – the streets are less crowded, the air is crisp, and the city’s rhythm is a bit slower. If you go in summer, the Old Town is buzzing, and you’ll find yourself navigating through a sea of tourists. On weekends, the area around the hotel is lively with locals sipping coffee at the cafés on Cempinski Street, but weekdays are chill, making it easier to enjoy the quiet of the Motława. The hotel’s close proximity to the city center means you can easily soak in the historic atmosphere without spending hours on public transport. In short, staying at Apartament Kameralny nad Motławą feels like having a secret base in the middle of Gdańsk’s historic charm, where comfort meets convenience and the city’s soul is just a few steps away.

Reviews of Apartament Kameralny nad Motławą

  • Løvik from Norway – 7 March 2025 (8/10)

Nice apartment close to everything in Gdansk. Easy to access apartment when i got the information i needed. Kitchen had everything that's necessary.

What could be improved: Was hard to get in touch with them regarding check in, was told to call half an hour before we arrive, tried to do many times, but could get in touch before 1 hour after arrival to city, could just be that we was unlucky. But staff was friendly when i was able to reach them.

Just 1 bed was made up, so 1 person had to sleep with no bedding.

  • Agata from United Kingdom – 21 November 2024 (8/10)

Loved the location (right next to the river and by the centre of town) and that it was warmed up before we got in (travelled whilst the temperature was in the negatives so it was wonderful).
Lovely large living room with lots of seating including a dining room table and coffee table.
The bathroom was very nice and the hot water kept up with all 4 of us taking nice hot showers to warm up from the outside cold – the host was kind enough to provide towels and was very polite to answer any questions over text 😀

What could be improved: Only a couple small things that were a possible negative, we had to wait outside a while (only around 10-15 mins) to be let in, though we presume it was to allow the apartment to be unlocked and warmed up so not really an issue.
The 2nd bedroom was in the living room so it isn't a separate room but it is fully locking so it was still fine for our double couples trip.
I would recommend visitors remember to bring body/hair soap and such as it is not provided but everything else we needed was.

  • Allan from United Kingdom – 21 October 2024 (10/10)

Clean, as described and brilliant location

  • Alma from Mexico – 16 October 2024 (9/10)

The location is perfect, and apartment spacious. Has everything you need for a nice stay.

  • Päivi from Finland – 8 October 2024 (10/10)

Location was perfect. A great fish restaurant right opposite and a place to have breakfast too. The apartment was very clean and refurbished with good quality materials. It was warm too and the beds were comfy. Netflix was a nice suprise bonus.

What could be improved: We were missing a coffee maker and a toaster. Otherwise everything was perfect.

  • Kaskiewicz from United Kingdom – 2 July 2024 (9/10)

An excellent location. Very clean and nicely decorated. Plenty of room.

  • Michael from United Kingdom – 22 June 2024 (8/10)

Excellent location by the river. Very quiet even though the apartment is near restaurants. Supermarket within 50m. Good value for money. The apartment has a bed in the main living room, this makes it a very good and economical choice if you have a young family. And if you don’t then it’s fine- who spends their time in the apartment anyway?

What could be improved: It’s a little dated. The paintings of dogs in clothes are very old fashioned and a little creepy.

  • Martin from Sweden – 21 March 2024 (10/10)

Very good. Perfect location. Good space.

What could be improved: Couldn't find a coffee maker of any kind.

  • Ferran from Poland – 6 March 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: Some lights in the bathroom were not working.
Would be nice to have some scissors in the kitchen or utensil to cut pizza.

  • B from Latvia – 15 June 2023 (9/10)

Very nice apartment in perfect location
