Amelia Suite Overview
Amelia Suite sits on 3 Tartaczna, right on the edge of Gdańsk’s bustling old quarter. I remember stepping out of the tram at Motława, the salty breeze mixing with the scent of freshly baked pierogi from the corner stall. The first thing that hit me was the friendly receptionist—she greeted me with a warm, “Dzień dobry” and handed me a key that felt like a little piece of the city. Check‑in was a breeze, no long lines, just a quick chat about the best spots to hit that evening. Parking is a bit of a challenge; there’s a small lot on the street, but it fills up by mid‑morning, so I ended up parking a block over on a quieter side street—still a ten‑minute walk to the hotel, but the extra time let me soak in the quieter, cobblestone streets of the old town.
The room itself is a cozy blend of modern comfort and local charm. The walls are painted in warm earth tones, and the bed feels like a cloud—soft sheets, a generous pillow top that you can sink into after a day of exploring. I found a small, hand‑crafted table lamp that casts a gentle glow, making the space feel like a home away from home. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious, with a deep shower that has a built‑in rain‑shower head, and the tiles feature a subtle Gdańsk-inspired pattern. I appreciated the free, high‑speed Wi‑Fi and the small fridge stocked with local Polish sodas—an honest little touch that felt very thoughtful. The noise level is pretty good; the city hums in the background but you can still hear the distant sea waves, a soothing soundtrack for the night.
Walking out of the door, you’re right in the heart of the old town. Just a block from the hotel is the Market Square, where you can find the bustling fish market and the iconic Neptune statue. I took a detour down a side lane to the small café that serves the best espresso in town—its walls were covered in old postcards of Gdańsk, giving it an almost museum feel. If you’re looking for a place to try local cuisine, the restaurant on the street next to the hotel serves pierogi with a creamy mushroom sauce—delicious, honestly. For the quieter, more reflective moments, head over to the park by the Motława; the sunset over the river is breathtaking, and the sound of the water against the stone walls is oddly calming. During the summer, the streets get lively, with street musicians and tourists, but I found that the early mornings are the best time for a quiet stroll without the crowds. Parking again becomes a hassle in the evenings, so I ended up taking public transport back to Amelia Suite—the trams run frequently and are a fun way to see the city.
All in all, Amelia Suite is a solid choice if you want a comfortable, well‑located base that still feels like you’re part of the city’s everyday rhythm. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and tastefully decorated, and the proximity to both historic sites and local eateries made my stay effortless. The only downside is the limited parking and the fact that the hotel’s roof is a bit exposed to the wind on windy nights, but that’s a small price to pay for the overall experience. If you’re planning a trip to Gdańsk, especially during the busy summer season, I’d say give this place a shot—you’ll get a genuine taste of the city without the usual tourist trappings.

Location is perfect very close to the old town. Coffee, tea, sweets, bottle of water and other bits and pieces in the kitchenne.
Bathroom is OK however needs some maintenance and cleaning.
What could be improved: This apartment is really tiny, the bed is in a kind of closet making it feel quite claustrophobic.
It needs some tlc and deep cleaning.
It was extremely heated (floor heating) making sleep uncomfortable.Dylan from United Kingdom – 9 September 2024 (7/10)
Great location, easy self check in & generally clean on the whole. Comfortable, good amenities and exactly how described. In a nice, safe building with a shop at the bottom of the building.
What could be improved: We went to Gdańsk during a heatwave and it was 28-30 degrees. Unfortunately the room was extremely hot which made it difficult to sleep at night. There was a fan but it didn’t do much sadly. Whilst this was not the fault of the property owners, the property would really benefit from an air conditioning unit. A few of the towels also didn’t smell great which was slightly off putting.Lesia from Ukraine – 20 June 2024 (8/10)

The location is excellent. Contact with the owners is 100%.
What could be improved: The appartment is not big enough for 4 people and the bed settee was highly uncomfortable.George from United Kingdom – 26 June 2023 (9/10)
Perfect location, 10/15 minutes walk from Neptune Fountain, 15/20 minutes to main railway station. Quiet area, even with a nightclub nearby and the seagulls sometime.
What could be improved: Luckily just my son and I, would be a bit cramped with 4 adults, especially with the sofa bed out.Lucie from Czech Republic – 7 June 2023 (9/10)
everything was perfect, we will arrive again 😊
