The apartment itself was a pleasant surprise. The living area was spacious enough for a couple to spread out, with a comfy sofa that actually remembered the way you want it. I tucked the toiletries into a drawer that had a hidden compartment—great for keeping your makeup out of sight. The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped; I made a quick lunch of eggs and bread, and the sink was hot, which is a little luxury in a city where most kitchens are a bit cold. The bathroom had a shower with a nice water pressure that left me feeling refreshed after a day of walking around the port. I appreciated the local touches: a small jar of Gdańsk’s famous smoked fish on the counter, and a framed photo of the old harbor that hinted at the city’s maritime heritage. The Wi‑Fi was fast, and the TV had a decent selection of Polish channels, which is handy for catching a local news broadcast or a Polish soap opera. Honestly, it felt like a home away from home, but with a few extra perks you don’t see in standard hotels.

When I stepped out for the day, I was immediately drawn to the cobblestone streets of the Old Town. I walked past the St. Mary’s Church, its towering spire visible from the hotel’s balcony, and then took a detour to the nearby Strajkowa Street for a coffee at a tiny café that only serves espresso shot. The café’s owner, Marcin, talked about how the city’s best coffee roasts its beans locally—kinda cool, right? I also found a small market called “Sokół,” where I picked up fresh pierogi and a bottle of local cider. For my evening, I tried the pierogi at a place called “Pierogarnia Stary Młyn,” and the chef, a woman named Ania, explained the difference between pierogi with mushroom versus meat—she was so passionate that I felt like I was learning a new culinary skill. The area around the hotel is quiet after midnight, which made a good night’s sleep, but during the fall season, the streets get bustling with tourists and locals alike, so you’ll want to bring your own earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. All in all, Amber Q4Apartments felt like a real slice of Gdańsk life—friendly, convenient, and just enough local flavor to make your stay memorable.

  Ett fantastiskt boende i den gamla delen av Gdansk. Optimalt läge om man vill se och uppleva staden.

  We traveled as a group of four friends and really enjoyed the apartment. We especially loved the beautiful interior design and the spaciousness of the place, which was very comfortable. The location is also excellent, close to the city center, so we could easily explore everything on foot. The only small downside was that it would have been nice to have some basic supplies like coffee for the coffee machine and cooking essentials like oil. Other than that, everything was great and we definitely recommend this place!

  Super Lage, im Sommer wahrscheinlich heiss, da Dachwohnung und keinerlei Beschattung. Lage perfekt an der Altstadt. Sehr ruhig.

  The property was spacious. We liked the fact there was an en-suite and a bathroom, which meant we didn’t have to share. The location was very good. We found the host very accommodating

  We loved the space, open plan kitchen, dining and seating area. Lots of quirky lighting and interesting pieces of furniture. Balcony was lovely to seat on but could do with another set of seating on the second one.
  
  What could be improved: The ensuite should have privacy screen for comfort to use and shower over bath could do with some screening to avoid water going everywhere, same should be in ensuite's shower. Just few more mugs and a bit of washing liquid.
